The following are pictures of an unusual toted skew rabbet plane, that I bought at the same auction as
the 1800's jointer plane.

Rabbet plane

The plane is a 2" wide skew rabbet made of beech.  The tote, which was added later in the life of the
plane, is made of oak.

You can see here where the tote has been let into the side of the plane.

View of the bottom

Here is a view a of the bottom showing how the tote was let into the body.  The iron
appears to be hand forged, and is a little thinner than a normal iron.
But it fits the plane perfectly, so it is not a replacement.
