In learning traditional (or old tool) woodworking, the workbench is a very basic but
necessary tool. It serves not only to support the work but also acts as a clamping system
as well.  The following areas  are about the bench that I built, which is based loosely on
several 1700's vintage benches that I have seen.  In additon there is are pages with pictures
and plans of other workbenches as well as one on treadle lathes.
